Hi Everyone,

Hope that Summer 2010 finds you well. We are sending out this volunteer opportunity ahead of our event schedule because school starts soon and this involves working with school children. This volunteer program is the project of Mike Pancione, the Vice President of Bridge To Action. As schools struggle with budget cuts we hope to help mitigate some of the burden with volunteerism. Please read the information below and contact either Mike or me to volunteer or to ask questions. We are excited about this venture and the upcoming opportunities and events we have planned for the Fall and throughout 2010/2011. One of our upcoming events is a partnering with Temple University in Ambler to conduct another childrens "green" art workshop, culminating with an art show and reception. BTA is also planning a October get together. Watch for our September e-mail for further details. We have an exciting year ahead of us.

Thank you for your support and volunteerism,

Donna Lima-Monteiro

Bridge To Action member Mike Pancione is looking for people who might be interested in participating in a pilot program to provide "science fair" mentors to middle school students in the Upper Dublin School District.

See the Projects page for more information and how to contact Mike.

Our Bridge To Action meeting will be held on Wednesday September 23rd @ 7:00 PM in the Jarrettown United Methodist Church located @ 1460 Limekiln Pike, Dresher, PA 19025. We will be out no later than 9:00 PM. A couple of days before the meeting I will send out a Meeting Agenda.

While we await our 501C3 status which will enable us to carry on with relationships and grant monies to enhance and grow our projects, we have an opportunity to send books to "Suzanne's Library" with Suzanne. Suzanne Yankowski and her husband are going to be in the US and returning to Costa Rica on 9/30. If you would like to donate books you can send them to the address below. Suzanne has room for about 20 pounds of books. Those interested in helping should insure the books arrive by 9/26.

You can send the books directly to Suzanne by ordering them through www.Amazon.com. The books should be shipped to :

Click HERE for the list of books they would like to have, and for more information about this project please go to Suzanne's Library.

This project is headed by Mike Pancione. Mike is also working diligently on our 501c3 paperwork. Thank you Mike for all you do for BTA.

Thank you to everyone who has or will be contributing food to our Ambler Food Cupboard donation site at the Ambler Theater. Here is an excerpt from a letter written by Maria Rosen to the Theater Management,

"I wanted to give you an update on how the food donations are going. After a slow start, things are picking up nicely.

On August 3rd, we picked up and delivered 20 non-perishable food items; on August 17th, the number had increased to 31; yesterday I was pleased to deliver 100 items to the Ambler Food Cupboard. They were delighted, as am I. I know that Mattie Dixon was especially touched because these are such tough times. She said that every time she has a need, something like this occurs. I hope you feel as good about being a part of this as I do."

Thanks to Maria for her work, follow-up and persistence, not just with this project. Anyone who can help Maria with pick-up or delivery should contact Maria at maria.rosen@verizon.net.

Please continue to support this work and to spread the word about our donation center at the Ambler Theatre.

We are grateful for the opportunity to serve and my we continue to grow in love and peace to serve many.
