Where were you born?
Charlotte, North Carolina.
When did you (move to the U.S./move from somewhere else in the U.S.) to Philadelphia?
3 years ago.
Why did you leave your country/State/former place of residence?
Because it's cheaper over here.
What did you like/dislike about your home/country?
It was too much violence.
Why did you choose Philadelphia/U.S?
Better job opportunities and family.
How did you travel here?/What type of transportation did you use/take to travel here? How would you change that?
By airplane.
How did you find a place to live in Philly?
I moved with my cousin Latavia Hudson.
With whom did you travel? [Who did you travel with?]
Myself and my mother.
Give 1 thing you remember most about your home town and why?
My house and my friends.
How did your life change when you moved and what were the differences between the t two places?
The environment was different.
What did you expect about the US/Philly?
A difference in living and society.
What did you come here to accomplish and what else do you feel you still need to do?
Get a better job and finish school, because I moved to Philadelphia for better job opportunities and to succeed in college.
What are the differences between when you came here and now?
The difference is that I have to build a friendship because I left all my other friends in the past.
What did you sacrifice/leave behind when you left?
My relatives in North Carolina.
What problems did you encounter coming to the US/Philly?
Jealousy because I wasn't from this State.
How much money did you have and where did you get it when you came to Philly/US?
300 dollars because I saved it from my job I had before I came to Philadelphia.
How did you adapt to your new environment?
All right, because I been here a lot and I also explored the city.
Why do you think it was worth all your changes?
Because back in North Carolina my friends were bad influences.
What education did you have before/after you arrived?
General studies (high school education).
Do you [ever] regret moving? Why or why not?
I don't regret moving here because it gives me a new chance to prove myself and succeed in society and it gives me one more chance before I die.
What reason would/could make you go back to where you came from?
If someone passed away in North Carolina.
Describe your first job here. If you didn't have one, where did you get money?
My first job was telemarketing because I was good with communication.
