None of the Republican candidates attended the 2nd Candidates Forum, either.
They try to explain it away in
a letter to the Patch.

Here's the letter sent to the Republican candidates on October 25th, again inviting them to the Forum on the 26th at Wissahickon High School.

Good Morning Wissahickon School Board Candidates,

As a result of the Patch.com and the Ambler Gazette article from the first community forum, I have received many inquiries as to why the majority of the eligible Wissahickon school board candidates have not and do not plan to participate in the scheduled forums. As it has been highlighted in the Ambler Gazette article, I have repeatedly explained that I attempted to accomodate your conflicting schedules at least three times. At this point, I wanted to reach out to you once again to request a date before election day to have a community conversation with the school community. It has become seriously disheartening that you have no regard for the gracious overtures that have been made from the parent groups within the school community. As it has been stated before, "we" provide a great deal of financial and volunteer resources for each school and play a very integral role/impact of the student life at Wissahickon. We are your constituents and we should be able to have an open conversation with you before any of you ascend to the board.

Again, I am sure between October 27th - November 7th, there are some dates that we could work with so the whole slate of candidates are able to participate. I look forward to hearing from you by the end of the day! Thank you!

Carmina Taylor

Letter exchange continues in the Ambler Gazette
over the outrageous claims by Barbara Ullery as
she still claims that 60% of
Wissahickon Middle School students
are not Proficient - when in reality 95% ARE.
