Mr. R. Pomante, Coordinator
For more than thirty years the Motivation Professional Program has prepared students for what lies ahead in life, whether it be academic or personal. There are many new teachers and courses inMotivation this year, but the goals of the teachers and students remain the same - to prepare students to go to college and to be successful in whatever career they choose.

There are several career pathways that a Motivation student may select. All students take a similar core of academic subjects as well as electives in a chosen area of study.Motivation career pathways include Mathematics and Science Careers, Law and Education, Computer Technology, Architectural Drafting, Law and Education, Fine Arts, Welding and Medical Related Careers.

Students also participate in numerous cultural and educational field trips. They are also encouraged to take part in academic enrichment programs like the University of Pennsylvania's Pipeline Program, Sponsor a Scholar, Upward Bound, Cascade Mentoring Program, and the NBC 10 Homework Helpline. These activities give students the experience and the academic skills they will need when they become college students.

"Motivation has existed for so long because our students do succeed in college," said Mr. Pomante the Academy Coordinator. "When students strive to excel, they gain confidence in themselves, and they can achieve almost anything."

The Motivation Professional Program emphasizes SAT preparation, college selection, applications for financial aid, and transition to college life. Graduates of the program are currently attending LaSalle, St. Joseph's, Temple, Penn State, Villanova, and many other prestigious universities. Many students have earned scholarships.
