Minutes
Wow, it is almost a year since we started Bridge To Action and we've come along way. First, we want to wish each of you and your families a very Happy New Year filled with peace, good health, love, happiness, joy, laughter, prosperity and good works. We have been blessed to accomplished all that we have accomplished in the past year. We planted the seed of dedication to community service and it is growing. Thanks to your volunteerism we are making a difference in the lives of those who need help. Aren't we lucky?
Our 501C3 application has been mailed, thanks to diligence and skill of Mike Pancione, BTA Vice President. Many thanks to Mike for all the time and effort he put into getting this task accomplished. Thank you to Maria Rosen BTA Secretary, and project chair of the BTA/Ambler Theater/Food Collection Campaign, and to Cindy Siegel the BTA Treasurer for establishing our Pay Pal and other business accounts. We are now undertaking the project of grant writing with the help of Barbara Turk. Below are the minutes from our December meeting, from Maria. Thanks to all who helped make our first year so exciting and fruitful and to all who will make this BRIDGE TO ACTION year of service the best year yet.
BTA members: Included in this email are Minutes from December meeting and Results of Brown Bag Food Drive for the Ambler Food Cupboard.
at the Horsham Library:
Meeting attended by the 4 officers, Donna Lima-Monteiro, President; Mike Pancione, Vice-President; Cindy Siegel, Treasurer; Maria Catrambone Rosen, Treasurer.
- Cindy and Mike shared additional banking info and Cindy will be finalizing banking items. PayPal is up and running on our website. We must pay a fee to them if anyone uses this method, but feel it is worth it for the ease of contributing.
- Mike reviewed some additional items he
needs for the 501c3 filing:
- Donna Lima-Monteiro to do green project write-up
- Barbara Turk to do write up on grants
- Very little money has come in for the filing cost of $300 to file for our non-profit status. This is a real concern, since we need the non-profit status to be able to move forward. We know this is a busy (and costly!) time of year, but please go on to our website (www.bridgetoaction.org) or send to our PO Box (PO Box 1351, Fort Washington, PA 19034) whatever you can afford. If everyone on our mailing list sent $5 or $10, we would easily make out goal, and maybe a cushion to pay for some copying costs, etc.
- Reviewed status for Brown Bag Food Drive on Sunday, December 6th.
- Gail, Doreen and Donna starting work on the recyclable art project workshop in January. Anyone interested, please get in touch with Donna (dontallm@aol.com).
Respectfully submitted,
Maria Catrambone Rosen,
BTA Secretary
Brown Bag Food Drive - December 6th, 2009
Thanks to BTA members and residents of Tannerie Wood, we were able to collect 387 food and other non-perishable items (and one brand new JGHook coat!) for the Mattie N. Dixon Food Cupboard. We delivered it on Monday, and they were very happy to receive such a large donation.

Subject: Food Donations
I made a pickup at the Ambler Theater on Sunday and delivered the food on Monday.
- 21 items from Ambler Theater, making a total of 407 since this summer
- 35 additional items from the food drive at
my house -- donated by someone that missed the 12/6 date, making a revised
total for that project of 422. This makes a grand total of 829 food items
that we have given to the Ambler Food Cupboard.
