| After leaving the Ninth Grade
Success
Academy, students enter the Tenth Grade Academy
where once again students and teachers are organized by teams.
During
their year in the Tenth Grade Academy, students take two
courses
in both English and math to strengthen their academic skills. In
addition
to their academic subjects and physical education, every Tenth
Grade
Academy student is also enrolled in two classes in the career /
vocational
area he or she has chosen to explore. Some of the career /
vocational
courses available to our tenth graders include: accounting, art,
architectural
drafting, auto body, auto mechanics, baking, child care, cosmetology,
electrical
mechanical, food service, health science technology and medical
records,
heating and air conditioning, instrumental music, materials management,
small
business management, vending, and welding.
Students move into one of our
career-based Academies when they leave the
Tenth Grade Academy.
